We are excited to share our latest collaboration, Melinoe from Hades 2. Our team worked together with IndigoJinjo and her sewing patterns, Thomas from Magic Missile Studios' set design and photography, and our own illustris_cosplay to bring this character to life. The collaboration allowed us to capture all the iconic elements of Melinoe's design, including her dagger and sickle weaponry, and IndigoJinjo's pattern work brought the costume to life. We're excited to showcase our finished and painted commission of Mipha's trident from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, one of our favorite models and a prop that was a true labor of love for us. We experimented with ways to split the prop apart for travel and con-safety, and we settled on a pressure-fit technique that uses metal rods and foam to create a tight, wobble-free fit that allows cosplayers to align the details of the prop perfectly. To create the blue-yellow-pink gradient of the "wave" details at the base of the trident head, we chose to incorporate resin instead of paint, dripping it into the recesses to easily and effectively play with the watery design language of the prop.
