Liberation: Alear's Sword from Fire Emblem: Engage

We recently tackled the ambitious build of Alear's Liberation sword and sheath from Fire Emblem: Engage, and the project has been an incredible success. After putting them up on our store, we've constantly had the swords printing due to high demand.

As avid fans of the game, we were excited to take on this project and bring this iconic weapon to life for cosplayers around the world. To ensure stability, we designed the sword to print in 25cm sections that thread onto a 6.3mm rod. We used Fusion360 to model the sword and then printed it in Polymaker PolyTerra, a durable and eco-friendly filament, on our Creality Ender 3 V2 printers and our Prusa MK3.

The sheath was a little trickier due to its unique geometry and lack of space for rods, but we were able to overcome the challenge by heavily encouraging customers to finish it up with strong glues such as 2-part epoxy and coat it in resin coatings such as XTC-3D. The crossguard geometry was also challenging and took a few slicing iterations to perfect, but we're thrilled with the final result.

Overall, the Alear's Liberation sword and sheath project was a thrilling experience, and we're proud to have helped bring this iconic weapon to life for cosplayers around the world.
