Introducing DuckDuckMoose, a Kansas-based cosplayer and crafter! DuckDuckMoose took home the award for Best Intermediate Craftsmanship at NakaKon 2024 for her gorgeous Hannah Alexander Shinobu build, and has been cosplaying for 2 years now. We're featuring their Ocarina of Time Zelda, which they used our accessory kit for!
Photograhed by @that_wakawaka, sewing pattern by Indigo Patterns.
We had the pleasure to ask them a few questions about themselves and this cosplay!
What is your favourite part of this cosplay?
The belt! All of the little parts and detail on the tabard came together to look great!
What part of this cosplay did you find the most challenging?
Sewing the dress, this was my first cosplay so I was completely unfamiliar with a sewing machine!
How long have you been cosplaying?
2 years
What is your favourite cosplay/crafting tool or supply?
Beads! I love doing bead work, it's such a simple way to really make a cosplay pop!
What is your #1 cosplay tip?
Always press and finish your seams!!
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into cosplay?
Just do it! Find something you love and cosplay it, go out into the community and make friends and have fun doing it!
