Description

Edgin's Bard Lute, from everyone's favourite TTRPPG movie! This listing is for the digital .STL files to download and print at home on your own 3D printer! Split for 25x25x25cm machines.

The lute measures approx. 60cm in length, and has channels throughout for a 10mm/ 3/8 inch dowels, and also uses 2x 6.3mm rods to assist with alignment. We recommend aluminium rods to keep the weight down! The lute is designed to be strung, with the bridge being removable via 10x3mm magnets (though we don't recommend playing it - it'll likely sound terrible!)

File Details

- The bridge plate magnets on and off to hide the ends of your strings!
- Each tuning peg is DIFFERENT so be sure to print all four different files! They have holes in slightly different spots for stringing purposes
- Tuning pegs are designed to string like a regular guitar/stringed instrument! Thread the string through the hole and twist to tighten.
- In theory, the lute is mostly playable as we've designed it very closely (at least externally) to a regular lute. HOWEVER, it is not intentionally designed to be playable - certain dimensions here and there may be off in ways which may make the lute a) unplayable, b) just not sound right at all.

TL;DR
Lute is designed to be a cosplay prop. It is not designed to be playable. If you try to play it and it sounds bad, this is not our fault 😂

Additional Hardware

To assemble your Edgin Lute, you'll require a few pieces of external hardware. These are as follows:

- 4x 10x3mm magnets (for the bridge plate)
- 2x 7cm long 6.3mm diameter rods (for aligning Lute Body Lower with Lute Body Middle)
- 1x 18cm 10mm diameter rod (for adding strength between Lute Body Middle and Lute Body Upper)
